The UT Permian Basin Information Resources Division (IRD) supports the teaching, researchand service missions of the University community in the following areas:
- Provides computer hardware and software support for academic, administrative and library computing
- Supports the campus Local Area Network (LAN), the connection between the campus LAN and the Internet, and data connections between numerous state agencies
- Manages and operates the University's telephone system and the associated voice mail system
- Serves as a central clearing point for strategic planning, operational planning and information resource procurement
